Location and Nearby Attractions

Picture
The Wethersfield Cove Yacht Club is located on the southwestern shore of the Wethersfield Cove, in the town of Wethersfield CT, just south of the capital city, Hartford.

The club is accessible by road from Hartford Avenue, close to the center of historic Old Wethersfield, Interstate 91, Exit 26 and CT routes 5 and 15, Silas Deane Highway Exit.

When heading north or south on the Connecticut River, the entrance channel to the cove begins just north of the “135” and “136” markers, and proceeds west, underneath Interstate 91.  The cove is approximately 40 miles north of the mouth of the river at Long Island Sound, a nice day excursion on the historic river, with many places to stop and explore along the way.

Close to the club one finds convenience, grocery, pharmacy, and package stores.  Taking a short walk brings visitors to historic Old Wethersfield, home of Revolutionary War era homes, the Wethersfield Historic Society, restaurants, and shopping.
